Terrorists on Sunday launched suicide bombing attacks on two churches in Lahore, Punjab Province, in Pakistan and reportedly killed at least 10 people.
Pakistan’s English daily Dawn reports that the bombers targeted the Roman Catholic Church and Christ Church in Punjab’s capital city Lahore, killing 10 people and injuring more than 50 others. The incident happened before noon and the media story of the incident is still in development.
So far, it’s been learnt that Pakistan’s Taliban groups are behind the bombings as they have claimed responsibility for the attacks. There is also report of eyewitnesses spotting a young man, believed to be among the attackers, beaten up by an angry mob reacting to the blasts.
The recent attack is yet another incident of the failure of Pakistan’s military, intelligence, and police forces in stopping incidents of terror that have targeted both ethnic minorities as well as the general Muslim population in the country.
