PA Police Arrest Christian Man for Reading Bible at LGBTQ Event

Update: Criminal Charges were dropped against Atkins after the county District Attorney reviewed videos of the incident, reported The Lancaster Patriot on June 08, 2023.

Taking political persecution to a new level of state tyranny, police in the city of Reading, Pennsylvania, arrested a Christian man for standing and reading bible aloud across the street from an LGBTQ gathering. The video of the incident went viral on Twitter.

The Lancaster Patriot reported on Monday (June 5) that a man named Damon Atkins stood on a sidewalk across the street from the city hall in Reading on Saturday to protest an LGBTQ pride event. But it was no more than a minute when the police on the spot walked up to Atkins and warned him against protesting the event. When Atkins reminded them that it was his right to protest and restarted reading a biblical verse, a cop suddenly turned and put Atkins in handcuffs. As Atkins was taken away in handcuffs, the people from the LGBTQ gathering cheered at his arrest.

The video of the incident was widely shared on Twitter as an example of leftist tyranny targeting conservatives and people of faith in liberal states.

Leftist mainstream media ignored the incident with the exception of a very few sources like Newsweek, which claimed the man was “yelling” biblical verses – something not seen in the video – and wrote that the Atkins got into an “altercation” with the police prior to his arrest by them. However, a number of conservative media reported on the incident and called Atkin’s arrest an exhibition of tyranny as in the words of the man who recorded the arrest on video.

In a blow to the globalist-leftist movement of transgenderism, Russia banned LGBTQ propaganda last December.
