The deadly disease arising in Saudi Arabia has now reached five continents and the latest country to report a new case of MERS is Philippines.
News sources inform that it’s the second case of MERS in Philippines, the new patient being a man – not named – who recently returned from Dubai, UAE. And he is said to have travelled to Saudi Arabia. His condition is improving.
However, the case adds to the possible pandemic threat of MERS, particularly after the recent large outbreak of the disease in South Korea. It’s worth mentioning that WHO refuses to call the deadly viral infection a global emergency despite the hundreds of casualties and numerous other cases across the world, traced back to Saudi Arabia.
