The Roustabouts will have two performances in the Sacramento area this weekend. They are a hard driving bluegrass band from the Bakersfield area.
The Roustabouts play in the traditional style and honor the pioneers of bluegrass music. They also pay homage to the creators of the Bakersfield Sound, and their “grassed up” renditions of classics from that era are crowd favorites. Tight 3- and 4-part vocal harmony and hot picking is what you can expect anytime the Roustabouts take the stage: Craig Wilson (guitar/mandolin), Shawn Criswell (banjo), Brian Hacker (doghouse bass), Kelvin Gregory (mandolin/guitar) and Paul Lee (fiddle).
They will also be playing at the Sonoma County Bluegrass & Folk Festival in Sebastopol on March 12. You can see / hear them locally at the Yolo Brewery, 1520 Terminal St, West Sacramento, on Saturday, March 12, from 600 to 900 PM, and at Faith Presbyterian Church, 625 Florin Rd, Sacramento, on Sunday, March 13, from 230 to 430 PM.
