The Ghost Breakers (1940) – Diagnostic Features of Zombies

George Marshall’s The Ghost Breakers (1940) is a spoofedy – a spoof comedy – making fun of ghostly mysteries set in haunted places. Hope plays radio host Larry Lawrence who accidentally boards a ship to Cuba after mistakenly getting accused of shooting someone dead.

In this scene, around midway into the movie, Larry happens to hear about the voodoo practice on the island of his destination and how it creates zombies. The description of zombies reminds him of a particular kind of people he has seen all around. Play the clip to vote whether you agree with Larry.
