Methane is a more potent greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide but our media seems obsessed with carbon dioxide when discussing climate change, mainly because carbon emissions are more ubiquitous. However, methane emissions are not negligible and measure need to taken to cut it to a minimum.
Out of this concern, Moms Clean Air Force – a community of parents working against air pollution – is asking the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to protect people from the harm caused by methane-contaminated air.
“Tell the EPA that we need national protection against methane pollution from the oil and gas industry,” reads the petition.
The petition on Care2 has gathered about 29K signatures and is moving on to meet its 35K target.
