CBA Father’s Day Festival in Grass Valley, June 16 – 19

by California Bluegrass Association father's-day-festival

OK, folks; here we are just days before the CBA’s biggest event of the year, the 41st annual Father’s Day Festival at the Nevada County Fairgrounds in Grass Valley, June 16 – 19. I assume that you already have your tickets, but if not, you can still get them at the gate ($130 for all 4 days). Here’s a good thing you can do for your friends, the CBA, & yourself. Invite some of your friends to come up to the festival, even for just a day; single day tickets are $35 – $60 depending on the day plus parking. If they’re not bluegrass fans yet, they will be after that. Be sure to have them bring chairs or provide them yourself. The 3rd page of this newsletter is a poster you can print out & give to them or post in your neighborhood.

The bands this year are Rhonda Vincent & the Rage; New Reeltime Travelers; Jeff Scroggins & Colorado; Crary, Evans, & Spurgin; Barwick & Siegfried; One Button Suit; Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen; Danny Paisley & Southern Grass; Blue & Lonesome; Alabama Bow Ties; Gibson Brothers; Flatt Lonesome; Tennessee Mafia Jug Band; Rocky Neck Bluegrass Band; Roustabouts; Blue Deux; Blue Summit; The Brainstormers; The Buffalo Gals; The Blue J’s; The Compost Mountain Boys; Cliff Compton & Mountain Top; Grasslands; Scott Gates & Eric Antrim, The Grasskickers; The Grass Less Traveled; Maverick; Pacific Drive; The Piney Creek Weasels; Skillet Licorice; Rambling Minors; the Vivants; & The Town Howlers.

Wow! What a lineup!  Not all of them are listed on the flyer. All this plus Kids on Bluegrass & the opportunity to get in your minimum annual requirement of jamming. It’s also a great time to reconnect with old friends & make new ones. Check through your camping gear &/or RV so you’re ready to roll to the festival no later than Wednesday night.
