The Rambling Minors will play a concert at the Fifth String Music Store, 3184 N St, Sacramento, 916-442-8282, thefifthstring.com, on August 27 at 700 PM.
I was blown away by their set on Vern’s Stage at the 2016 CBA Father’s Day Festival. These kids are not just good for their ages, ranging from 9 to 13; they’re just good musicians & singers by any measure. Rambling Minors is California’s next generation of red hot bluegrass; check them out at ramblingminors.com. The band combines virtuosic instrumental playing along with soulful vocals that belie their young ages. They play straight ahead bluegrass along with their own unique arrangements of classic bluegrass tunes. Andrew Osborn, Daisy Kerr, and Miles & Teo Quale met each other through the Kids on Bluegrass program at California Bluegrass Association’s Father’s Day Bluegrass Festival in 2014. Since then, Rambling Minors has performed at various events such as the Northern California Bluegrass Society’s Good Ol’ Fashioned Bluegrass Festival and Freight & Salvage’s Berkeley Bluegrass Festival, & they have opened for fiddler extraordinaire Michael Cleveland.
Tickets for this event are $10
