Dale Ann Bradley & Steve Gulley, December 5, Folsom Dale Ann Bradley & Steve Gulley will play in concert at the home of Larry & Caroline Kuhn, 177 Stoney Hill, Folsom, 916-983-2275, on December 5, 7:30 pm.
Dale Ann is what folks would call “the real deal”. Growing up in the coal country of Kentucky, she started out singing a cappella in church and has expanded her influence to a world-wide audience. The International Bluegrass Music Association has voted her Female Vocalist of the Year in 2007…..AND 2008, 2009, 2011, and 2012. Bluegrass fans may know her from her earlier work with the New Coon Creek Girls, her present Dale Ann Bradley Band, or the “pick-up” band of women super-pickers, Sister Sadie. You can hear her, Steve Gulley, & mandolin player Sierra Hull sing one of my favorite songs “Come Home Good Boy” at her website.
Steve Gulley, who lists Cumberland Gap, Tennessee, as his home, has been a friend of (and co-performer with) Dale Ann for 30 years, I’ve been told. He has been a part of the Dale Ann Bradley Band most recently, previously lead singer and co-founder of Mountain Heart with Barry Abernathy, well-loved Bluegrass and Country song-writer, and now is starting a new bluegrass band, Steve Gulley & New Pinnacle. According to Steve, in an interview with Bluegrass Today, he’s keeping really busy with all his music projects… which makes it even more special that we get to see him sing in this duet setting with his good friend and co-singer Dale Ann! Let me add that Steve and Dale Ann are two of the nicest people in the music industry!
So put this date on your calendar. You don’t have to be a bluegrass, gospel, OR country music fan to enjoy this concert…. anybody who is a fan of good music & GREAT harmony singing, will love seeing these two very special performers!
Admission is by donation, all of which goes to the artists, $15 advance for CBA members, $20 for everyone else, or $20 at the door for everyone. Seating is limited. This show will surely be a sellout so make your reservations now.
