Saudi Arabia continues to bomb and kill civilians in Yemen as mainstream media suppresses the news of Saudi atrocities to bare minimum. In a fresh incident of bombing non-military places and people, a mosque was reportedly targeted in northwest Yemen.
Reuters did a very brief report on the incident that took place on Friday – the day when Muslims offer congregational prayers at mosques in early afternoon – in Mahwit (northwest Yemen). The news says the explosion killed several worshippers and wounded others as the bomb hit the mosque. There is no other information provided in the report which cites “residents” as its source.
Since its invasion of Yemen to claim the control of the country back from the Houthi rebels of Shia sect, Saudi Arabia has indiscriminately bombed Yemen leaving nobody safe, including its own allies. In late September, Saudi coalition targeted a wedding gathering, killing as many as 130 people, using American weapons.
The United Nations has backed Saudi atrocities and in a few cases, verbally expressed sorrow over its killings of Yemenis.
