In my article about the rising authoritarianism in science, The Looming Shadows of Faith-Based Science, three common strategies of the establishment are highlighted – censor, ignore, deny – or CID for short. Widely published and known German physicist Alexander Unzicker has recently rang the same alarm over academia’s attitude to shut down critique.
Dr. Unzicker, author of The Higgs Fake and other books, posted a video to his YouTube channel in which he commented on another German physicist Sabine Hossenfelder’s video wherein she shared how American physicist Carlo Rovelli contacted her to complain about her critical assessment of science of Loop Quantum Gravity (LQG) that he advocates. Hossenfelder said that Rovelli also wanted another video about the topic taken down while he complained to her that she doesn’t understand his genius.
In his commentary, Dr. Unzicker expresses disappointment over this attitude in science that literally represents close-mindedness and intolerance. In his words, “if we allow science to become politics, we are f*****.”
