Government Releases Plan to End Animal Testing

Government Releases Plan to End Animal Testing

by Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine

I’m writing to share some BIG news regarding animal testing. This week the National Institutes of Health (NIH) released a plan to ensure more rapid progress toward replacing animal use in the toxicity testing of drugs and chemicals. This marks the turning point we have been working for to transform the field of toxicology.

Please send a quick note to Dr. Warren Casey, Director of the NIH’s National Toxicology Program Interagency Center for the Validation of Alternative Methods (NICEATM), and Dr. Anna Lowit, Chair of the Interagency Coordinating Committee on the Validation of Alternative Methods (ICCVAM), to support them for their leading role in the plan.
