Alan Munde & Bill Evans will perform in concert on Thursday, April 7, 7:30 pm (door opens at 700 PM), at the Folsom Opry House (aka home of John & Loretta Hettinger), 113 Puffer Way, Folsom.
Bluegrass legend Munde began his musical career in 1968 & is best known for his 21-year stint with the forward-leaning bluegrass band Country Gazette, which recorded many highly acclaimed albums. Evans is an internationally known five-string life force & brings deep knowledge, intense virtuosity, & contagious passion to all things banjo. He has performed on Prairie Home Companion & with the San Francisco Symphony.
This very special, one-of-a-kind concert brings together two of the most important & influential bluegrass banjo players of the last several decades, performing bluegrass, original compositions, fiddle tunes on banjo, beautiful slow songs & much, much more – including their entertainment-defying polka medley. And they’re also very funny! Loretta will contribute several of her famous pies for refreshments.
Seating is limited so don’t delay in making your reservations at bluegrass@shaunv.com or 916-990-0719. Your donation of $15 (CBA members) or $20 (non-members) all goes to the artists. Mail your check payable to Bill Evans to John Hettinger, 113 Puffer Way, Folsom, CA 95630.
