North Country Blue to Perform in Folsom on January 18th

by California Bluegrass Association

This amazing young band (high school & college ages) North Country Blue is a joy to hear and watch on stage. Their affinity for each other, both musically and personally, is obvious and infectious. The range of their material is impressive — you never knows what’s coming next or who’s going to be singing it, all part of the band’s attraction. They’re quirky, unpredictable, fun, multifaceted… and mighty talented. The Band members are Tessa Schwartz  on fiddle, Ida Winfree on mandolin, Megan January on bass, John Gooding on guitar, and Christine Willhoyte on banjo. All have “grown up” in bluegrass families and are committed to spreading bluegrass.

This last year the North Country Blue performed at several festivals —and then topped that off by reaching the finalist stage at the Rockygrass competition in Colorado and placing third. They are booked for several festivals in 2020, including the main stage at the CBA Father’s Day Festival.

Seating is limited, and admission is by donation of $20 for CBA members or $25 for non-members, all of which goes to the band.

Make your reservations now at 916-990-0719 or bluegrass@shaunv.com, and send your check payable to Tessa Schwartz to John Hettinger, 113 Puffer Way, Folsom, 95630 (aka the Folsom Opry House). The concert is on Saturday, January 18, 7:30 PM (door at 7:00).
