Box Head Revolution to Screen at Digital Debris in LA, July 18

Digital Debris in Los Angeles is bringing back to the big screen a unique movie by Mark L. Christensen – Box Head Revolution – more than 20 years since its initial release in 2002.  The theatre will play Christensen’s movie on July 18.

Set in an unspecified time on a distant planet, this movie features a world where humans have evolved into a species that is highly focused on privacy, so much so that everyone is required to wear a mask on their face. Those who violate this rule are punished with having their head boxed, literally. Yet the crash landing of a spacecraft from planet Earth brings with it something that would spark a revolt among the box heads and spreading on to the masked.

Shot in black and white, Box Head Revolution presents a different style of filmmaking, more along the dreamy and bizarre reality one sees in the work of David Lynch. It offers a glimpse into an alternate world of humans with the spirit of freedom and liberation at play against authoritarianism and oppression. And this makes the movie relevant today.
