The dating scene is not so much in mainstream news as on social media and the way it’s moving toward a women-centered business casts some serious doubt on its bounds. The recent announcement of a new app that requires men to pay women in they want to date is raising eyebrows and attracting critical attention.
Recently a video of a young woman, who apparently is a single mom, became the object of attention on social media. In the TikTok video, the woman is seen telling that she is launching an app that would require men to pay women in advance for going on a date with them. She called this payment “preparation cost” for the date.

Single mom introduces prostitution app after a man didn’t want to put down a “deposit” on a date with her. I expect she will be wildly successful… and remain single.pic.twitter.com/59m38cLoFD

Conservative commentator Kyle Seraphin shared the video on his X page and called the woman’s project a “prostitution app”. Many other men called it the exact same thing.
She just created an app for pr*stitution but instead of men getting sex, they just get a bill for her ‘preparation’ costs.
🚨Spoiler Alert🚨If it costs you that much to look good for a date, you’re definitely not worth dating. https://t.co/TVyTkbGzTp

Other angry reactions poured in, some calling on people not to feed such parasites; and some going as far as concluding that it marks the collapse of western civilization. The word “prostitution” was repeated most frequently in the comments from men on the video (and most comments came from men).
This dating app is just a step ahead from last year when a DatingPro article explained the concept of paid dates. The article was expressly supportive of the idea that men should pay women to go on dates with them. See how they approach the topic:
The rise of paid dating offers numerous benefits for women, including financial support and new experiences. Many women find empowerment in taking control of their dating experiences and financial situations.
So where is it going beyond the verbal acrobatics?
