The Florida Department of Health has announced a public hearing for December 12, 2025, on a proposed rule change that will permanently drop four vaccines that were required for school entry only by administrative rule, never by current Florida law:
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella (chickenpox)
- Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib)
- Pneumococcal conjugate (PCV)
If finalized, Florida will become one of the very few states that limits school vaccine mandates to only those the Legislature itself voted into law, no more “extra” shots added by the health department.
They’re also updating the following forms: DH 680 (blue card), DH 681 (religious exemption form), school guidelines, and the Florida SHOTS opt-out language.
This is the administrative version of the “No Vaccine Mandates” bill that is currently stalled, and we need parents to show up in force to say YES and make sure it gets across the finish line.
