Human DNA Found in Hot Dogs and Meat in Vegetarian Sausage

Unless you follow Dr. Hannibal Lecter, Human DNA is the last thing you could expect in your food. But it’s there. Yes, two percent of hot dogs and sausages out there contain human DNA, as a new study recently found.sausage

The study, conducted by Clear Food, found human DNA in hot dog sausage from 75 different brands, besides also finding that 10 percent of vegetarian sausage have meat in them. In addition, the study also found ingredients in foods that didn’t list them on the product labels, and such ingredients ranged from pork to beef, turkey, and chicken.

Can we say we have been fed parts of humans? I don’t think so. Can we say we have been clear of eating people’s parts? Well, not really – for DNA is the very basis of our genetic material, the material our genes are made of, and these genes distinguish us from the rest of the lifeforms.

The Clear Food study in question is another alarm call to people who trust labels. Misinformation runs big businesses and our modern, processed, highly mixed up – read messed up – foods are no exception. It’s another reminder to rethink our food purchase options, since the only sources you can trust, next to your own grown food, is getting whole foods from sources before any processing is done.
