‘Free Balochistan’: Activist Calls Pakistan’s Leader ‘Friend of Bin Laden’ in DC

Protesting the killings and torture of Baloch separatists at the hands of Pakistan’s military, a Baloch journalist-activist called Pakistani prime minister Nawaz Sharif a friend of Osama bin Laden yesterday in DC.Balochistan-freedom-war

The Week reports that Sharif had just begun his speech at the US Institute of Peace, in DC when Ahmar Musti Khan of Free Balochistan Campaign USA raised the slogan of “Free Balochistan” and called Sharif a friend of Osama Bin Laden. Khan also shouted “stop war crimes in Balochistan!”

Ahmar Musti Khan was removed from the hall by security as reported and shown in the picture in The Week story. His moment of protest caused bit of embarrassment to Sharif who paused for a moment, looking awkward.

Mainstream media in US and Pakistan have ignored the incident but some reporting agencies like Reuters as well as a few Indian media outlets have put the news up on their websites. The following NDTV video shows the moment when Nawaz Sharif’s speech was disrupted by Ahmar Musti Khan.
