USDA Sued over Shutting Down Public Access to Animal Welfare Data

The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) has been working hard to stop the abuse and torture of animals in labs. They have just taken the USDA to the court over the agency’s shutting down of access to information.

In an email message to subscribers, PCRM called on all US residents to ask their respective representatives of the Congress to help restore access to USDA’s Animal Care Information Service. Expressing concern over the USDA’s move, PCRM wrote:

“This will make it harder to find out how animals are used in laboratories and whether those facilities are complying with federal law.”

A letter asking the same of the representatives has been posted to the PCRM site and is available at this link.
